Less than 6 weeks!

Well, Jackson Avery Hamby will be here in less than 6 weeks!  That is so crazy…this past 9 months have flown by so fast.  We have had SO much stuff going on in our lives (personal, ministerial, Carter) that we would almost forget that Paige was pregnant.  Well, I would forget but I highly doubt that Paige ever did!:)  To be honest, I am a little scared and nervous about what it’s going to be like having a 1 year old and then a newborn but then I think about having a new little baby and I get very excited to start over again.

If you pray for Paige and I, please pray extra hard over the next few weeks for strength for her and sanity for both of us!!

  • You need to get snipped before you go for kid number 3.

  • I’m getting snipped after kid #3…at least that’s the plan now. Maybe we’ll do like that woman in the news and have Octuplets! :)

  • I am a non-commenting lurker. I enjoy reading your blog. Thought provoking and interesting. I feel compelled to comment on the above comments. One thing I can’t keep quiet about is how strange it is to me that many Jesus followers pick and choose teachings that work for them and leave other parts of God’s Word out.

Many places in the Bible it’s clear that children are a treasure God gives. My favorite being-Psalm 127:3-5

Don’t you see that children are God’s best gift?
the fruit of the womb his generous legacy?
Like a warrior’s fistful of arrows
are the children of a vigorous youth.
Oh, how blessed are you parents,
with your quivers full of children!
    Your enemies don’t stand a chance against you;
you’ll sweep them right off your doorstep.

I don’t see how limiting family size to two (typical American family) for almost universally selfish (if one is truly, deeply honest) reasons fits in with God’s heart. I find it impossible to say I want these blessings (money, a good home, a car that works, etc.) but I don’t want these other blessings (children who God himself created and wants to share with me).

I totally realize this isn’t the gist of your blog. Just had to share my thoughts. That’s the beauty of the blog world!

    Blessings (of every kind),
    Karissa

  • thanks for the comment Karissa. My wife would agree with you…she’s already talking about #4 and we haven’t even had #2 yet! I do have to say that every day with our son and my family, I feel more blessed than ever in my life. Who knows what life holds but you are right, children are God’s best gift by far! ((other than salvation:)))
